February to keep kids entertained at Atlanta museum

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta will have some exciting winter programs for children over the coming weeks.

Most programs are designed for children eight years old or younger, teaching creativity and a sense of play.

On February 2 from 11:00 to 4:30 pm, Celebrate the Chinese New Year will be held. The Atlantic Chinese Dance Company will perform, guests can attend Chinese Music and Movement classes, enjoy Chinese story time, experience a science show as they welcome the Year of the Rat.

Eat a Georgia Rainbow will be held on February 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 3:00 to 3:30 pm. It uses seasonal fruits and vegetable and simple recipes to make a cold dish.

Family Free Day on February 5 invites parents and children to participate free of charge in museum activities. The hours are 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Messy Thursday will be on February 6, 13, 20, 27, from 10:30 to 12:30 pm. Kids participate in making slime, crafts, and messy projects. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

On February 14 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, a Valentine’s Day program will be held. There will be dance, music, stories, art, and science. Atlanta has printers that design promotional products for businesses.

Finally, a Presidents’ Day program is held from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm on February 17. They will have special programs of music, dance, art, science, oval office programs, and crafts.

Healthy food and snacks are available in vending machines in the mezzanine section of the museum. The museum is located at 275 Olympic Park Drive.
