The High Art Museum in Atlanta offers some exciting winter programs over the coming weeks. There will be crafts, films, art education, art techniques, and a winter break program.
On December 9, the program December Second Sunday offers free admission from noon to 5:00 pm, and special programs for adults and children from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
Two short films by artist Yayoi Kusama will be shown on December 13 at 7:00 pm. The films capture her performance of singing and reciting poetry. Her art exhibit ‘Infinity Mirrors’ runs until February 17 at the museum.
On December 14, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, teens can learn art techniques and meet other teens to discuss art. TeenFriHIgh Day features art, music, and art discussion. This month’s theme is Winter Wonderland.
Winter Art Break will take place during December 26 to 30 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm for families, who can explore the galleries and participate in arts and crafts workshops..
The venue is popular with lovers of art and graphic design, and visitors can get free tours of the galleries daily from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with admission. Every Saturday and Sunday, there are free family tours from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
The High Art Museum has C.J’s Café with sandwiches, salads, and snacks, a restaurant called Twenty-Eight, and the Octane Coffee Bar. It is located at 1280 Peachtree St. NE.
