What's Happening in Atlanta, GA…

Atlanta to offer fruitful fest

Once again, Atlanta residents will soon be coming together to celebrate, admire, promote, poke fun at, and, most importantly, consume tomatoes at the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival.

This will be the sixth year for Chef Ford Fry’s JCT Kitchen & Bar festival, which honors the favorite vegetable (or fruit, to be pedantic) of backyard gardens across the country.

The venue has changed this year due to the festivals increasing popularity among both participants and attendees. The 2014 festival will be held at The Goat Farm Arts Center located at 1200 Foster St. NW, here in Atlanta.

More than 30 farms provide tomatoes for the festival, and over 50 top chefs throughout the South bring their individual talents and creativity to the fore to produce a wide range of tasty tomato-based dishes. Additionally, no fewer than 19 mixologists will be on hand, serving a variety of creative tomato concoctions designed to tickle the palate and quench the thirst of attendees.

This event is limited to 1,900 attendees and the cost per ticket is $70. Participants, as well as attendees, will surely want to contact a local print company to stock up on digital business cards, as this will be a suitable event both for advertising and networking.

The festival will take place between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Proceeds will go to the Georgia Organics and The Giving Kitchen.
