Several museums and organizations in Atlanta will offer virtual activities for adults and children, keeping them informed and entertained even while their doors are shut.
They will have weekly virtual tours, videos, seminars, and lessons. The program is called ATL Museums at Home and comprises a group of 12 organizations that will plan these special programs.
Every Friday, these organizations have virtual activities planned for Field Trip Friday at 10;00 am. Other virtual activities are planned during the week.
Organizations participating in ATL are the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Atlanta History Center, The Breman Museum, Children’s Museum of Atlanta, College Football Hall of Fame, Fernbank Museum, High Museum of Art, Emory Michael Carlos Museum, Georgia Aquarium, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and Zoo Atlanta.
The Atlanta Botanical Garden has a virtual tours, videos, and downloadable activities for children. Atlanta History Museum, meanwhile, has a learning lab that covers The Civil War in Atlanta, Augmented Reality, virtual author talks, and blogs on women and black history in Atlanta.
The Breman Museum has a Fulton Bag and the Cotton Video Tour, jigsaw puzzles, artifacts, tours, and cultural discussions. The Children’s Museum of Atlanta has virtual activities in literacy, art, science, and music. Printers design Posters and provide poster printing for events like this.
The College Football Hall of Fame has a virtual tour called Living in the Hall of Fame. The Georgia Aquarium has live streaming events, videos, and downloadable activities. Visit each organization’s website to learn more.
