This winter, The Atlanta History Center will have film making, poetry competitions, photography, lectures, and a gardening seminar. Activities are offered for children and adults.
The 4H Film Club meets on February 8 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm for children in 4-8th grades. Children learn to direct and film and their own newscast.
Poetry Out Loud Competition #`1 will be held on February 9 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Students will read poetry and compete to be in the state finals.
The 4H Club of Atlanta meets on February 9 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Intended for children from kindergarten to grade 12, the club offers shooting sports, weekend trips, camps, and other activities.
On February 10, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Magic Monday will have outdoor Valentine’s day activities for toddlers and preschoolers. Later that day, at 7:00 pm, editors Margaret Sartor and Alex Harris will discuss their book ‘Where We Find Ourselves’, about the photography of Hugh Magnum. He was an American photographer that took photos of turbulent times in the South between 1897-1922.
February 24 sees Erica Glasner, a well-known horticulturist, discuss how to grow hydrangeas for the American Hydrangea Society. The event is free and takes place 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Printers design and provide brochure printing for museums like this.
