The Atlantic Botanical Garden has reopened with timed tickets and social distancing in practice. Tickets may be purchased online and visitors are allowed entry every 15 minutes.
Many of the outdoor gardens are open. The Kendeda Canopy Walk is open. It has a 12-foot bridge that overlooks an urban forest and the bridge is one of the largest canopy walkways in the US.
A formal outdoor garden, The Levy Parterre, is open. This medieval knot garden has trimmed hedges, Korean boxwoods, blooming spring bulbs, and an Italian limestone fountain.
Visitors can walk through the Rose Garden with over 100 different types of roses on display. The Japanese garden opened in 1960, and has many different bonsai plants, a pond, stone walls, a courtyard, and tea garden with benches.
The Edible Garden is open too, and has fruits and vegetables on display, as well as its outdoor kitchen. Vegetable are arranged in interesting patterns focusing on color and texture. There is also an aquatic pond, fig trees, herbs, and produce.
The Skyline Garden has a rock garden, cactus, and aquatic plant pond. Printers design and provide poster printing for organizations like this. Visitors are allowed to spend one to two hours in the garden.
The Quick Café and snack bar are open for purchase of beverages, sandwiches, salad, and desserts. Food can only be eaten in designated areas.
The museum is open Tuesday thru Sunday 9:00 am – 9:00 pm. It is located at 1345 Piedmont Avenue.
