The annual Piedmont Park Arts Festival will be held next month, with more than 250 featured artists. The two-day festival is expected to gather attendees of all ages and backgrounds.
The outdoor event will feature approximately 250 artists, including painters, sculptors, glass blowers, crafters, jewelry designers, metalwork, leather stylists and photographers. There will be live art demonstrations, and a special artists’ pavilion highlighting the work of new artists in the community. The event will also include live music, food trucks, drinks, and a designated play area for children.
Local artists may apply to participate in the festival, by completing an application to have their work juried, on the event website. Once approved by the selection committee, the standard booth fee is $350. Several awards are distributed each year, including first, second and third place prizes for Best of the Show.
The summer arts festival is organized each year by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces LLC, to provide residents with an opportunity to view, and purchase artwork created by purveyors in the local community. Proceeds from the event are in support of scholarship programs, provided by the Georgia Foundation for Public Spaces, to launch the careers of local artists. Brochure printing may be used to provide information to the public about the goals and standards of such groups.
Sunshine Artist Magazine has designated the yearly event as one of the Top 100 Arts Festivals in the United States. This year, it will be held on Saturday, August 21 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Sunday, August 22 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission to the event is free.
