The classic rock band 38 Special will be visiting Atlanta in May for a special performance. This will take place at the Fredrick Brown Jr Amphitheater.
38 Special was officially formed in 1974 by Donnie Van Zant, Don Barns, Ken Lyons, Steven Brookins, Jack Grondin, and Jeff Carlisi. Later, two backup singers, Carol Bristow and Dale Krantz were added as well. The name came from an incident where police were called to their practicing area and shot off a padlock with a .38 Special pistol. Eventually, the group signed to A&M Records and began recording albums and singles.
It was only by the time their third album, ‘Rockin’ Into the Night’, was released that the band began to start receiving widespread fame. The title track on the album reached No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100. From there, they continued creating hit singles. These included “Hold On Loosely,” and “Caught Up In You.” Throughout their career, they have released 25 singles and 12 studio albums in total. Three of these albums have reached platinum status and two have reached gold status.
The concert will take place on May 7 at 201 McIntosh Trail, Peachtree City. The show will begin at 7:30 pm and ticket prices will start at $30. Bands like 38 Special may be interested in Graphic Design Services to decorate their albums and merchandise.
