St. Augustine waterfront to celebrate Fourth of July

The City of St. Augustine will host its annual Fireworks Over the Matanzas celebration this July. It is being presented by the City of St. Augustine with aid from the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.

The event will offer a festive evening of music and fireworks along the city’s historic waterfront.
Parking is free at lots owned by the city and on-street spaces. The Historic Downtown Parking Facility will charge $20 per vehicle, or $3 for registered ParkStAug users. The Castillo lot remains under federal enforcement and will be inaccessible from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Road closures begin at 8 pm, including portions of Cathedral Place, Avenida Menendez, and the Bridge of Lions. Marine restrictions also apply, with a designated no-boat zone and suspended bridge openings from 8 pm to 11 pm. For additional information, attendees should visit the event listing.

When an event has different parking locations available, hosts may use flyer printing to let individuals know which lots are where and are accessible.

Festivities will begin at 6 pm in the Plaza de la Constitución, 22 King St., Saint Augustine, Florida. A free two-hour performance by The All-Star Orchestra will also be a part of the celebration. The concert will feature a lively mix of patriotic and big band tunes.

At 9:30 pm, a 20-minute fireworks show will light up the sky above Matanzas Bay. The show will be viewable from the bayfront, Castillo de San Marcos, Bridge of Lions, and other nearby locations.
