Saint Augustine highlights women on U.S. stamps

A Women’s History Month program in St. Augustine will pair historical storytelling with a midday social gathering at one of the city’s landmark properties.

Hosted by The Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine, the event combines a catered lunch with an illustrated presentation examining notable women commemorated through American postal history.

The program will be led by Florida historian David Nolan, whose talk will explore the lives of more than twenty influential figures whose images have appeared on United States Stamps. The presentation traces how artists, writers, scientists, performers, and civil rights leaders helped shape national culture, while also revealing unexpected links between these women and St. Augustine. Figures discussed include celebrated musicians, pioneering aviators, literary voices, and political advocates whose impact extended well beyond their lifetimes.

The gathering will begin with an opportunity for guests to preview exhibits and browse curated merchandise inside the Peña-Peck House before transitioning outdoors for a buffet-style meal served in the garden. Non-alcoholic beverages are included with admission, while wine will be offered in exchange for a modest contribution.

Admission is priced at $45 per person. Tickets are refundable up to seven days prior to the event.

Brochure printing is often used to provide program details for an event such as this one.

The luncheon and lecture will take place on Friday, March 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Peña-Peck House, 143 St. George Street, Saint Augustine, Florida.
