Upcoming festival celebrates the strawberry harvest

The Florida Strawberry Festival is taking place next month in Plant City.

This popular annual event attracts visitors from all over the state and the country and is a celebration of the area’s most abundant harvest – strawberries.

The festival features a pageant to choose royalty, a carnival midway with rides and games and musical performances. Among the performers slated to appear at this year’s festival are For King and Country, Drifters Platters and Cornell Gunter’s Coasters, Willie Nelson and Family, The Bellamy Brothers, and Brenda Lee.

There will also be swine shows, dairy and steer exhibitions, lamb jumping demonstrations, and an exhibit about strawberry production. Visitors can also take part in contests such as strawberry stemming, hot dog eating, and strawberry shortcake eating.

There are several carnival days including Florida Day and Ride-a-thon Day, where guests can purchase a wristband for unlimited rides for $20.

Events such as this festival always have plenty of Banners on display, no doubt obtained from a favorite Plant City printing company.

The Florida Strawberry Festival will be held at the Plant City Festival Grounds from March 2 to 12 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM each day.
