Plant City to host new business park

In a move sure to shake up the local industrial market, Plant City leaders have approved the construction of a 3.4 million-square-foot industrial park.

Stalwart Equities is the developer of Stalwart Business Park, a large business complex to consist of 9 buildings on 410 acres, set along Paul Buchman Highway between Half Mile Road and Knights Griffin Road. A CSX rail line will serve the area and it will be built to satisfy an array of tenants. Two specialized offerings include a 150-megawatt data center and cold storage.

The developer indicates construction could begin as early as October, with project completion expected in mid-2027. Interest may be high in the project, as Stalwart reports early talks with one possible tenant to take 400,000 square feet. The land described was once approved for the Eagles Crest development, a mixed-use space of homes and commercial spaces, but one that was never developed. On May 12, the City Commission voted to rezone the parcel to Plant City Industrial, clearing the way for the new complex.

The development concept is to create mixed-use spaces that satisfy multiple purposes such as housing, work, and civic use. A series of green, residential spaces are planned for the project to limit the necessity for travel, and some agricultural space is planned as well.
