Industrial leader expands operations in Plant City
A local industrial company recently announced news of a significant expansion of business operations in Plant City.
Linder Industrial Machinery received initial approval from the city Planning Board to expand its facility on South Frontage Road. The expansion will include 10,000 square feet of added warehouse space and two covered wash bays, requiring an additional 1,800 square feet. The company also plans an exit-only lane onto Maryland Avenue for large trucks, a move intended to improve traffic safety concerns. A new parking lot near South Frontage Road is also planned.
The Planning Board approved the move in a 4-0 vote, subject to two requests. First, the city required signage installation to prevent trucks from traveling south on North Maryland Avenue. The board also asked the company to limit construction hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM during weekdays in order to comply with the local noise ordinance, with similar weekend hours. Banner printing and other signage from print shops are often used to draw attention to business expansions.
Linder Industrial Machinery is based in Lakeland and has been in business since 1953. It sells, leases, and services heavy industrial equipment. In its 70-plus years, the company has grown to 24 locations in Florida, both North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. The company employs about 380 people and has $73 million in annual gross revenue.
