Plant City is a community that pulls together to help its own, and a local fundraiser will help to keep food on everyone’s table.
The Empty Bowls movement brings artisans, chefs and the general public together to combat hunger at the grassroots level, and one of these activities will soon be on offer at the Robert W. Williford Railroad Museum. It will be the 16th year for the fundraiser held in support of United Food Bank & Services, and all help will be welcome.
The attendees will be able to purchase their choice of a handcrafted bowl made by a local artist, student or crafter, and there will be lots of soup tastings to choose from. An auction of artist bowls and unique prizes, as well as a special raffle draw, is on the agenda, and while they enjoy their food, the guests may take in views of the sunset.
The organizers of the evening are hoping it will be a true community builder, bringing neighbors together. There are sponsorship opportunities available, starting at the $800 “Horizon” level. Companies can choose the one best suited to them, and they may include the perk of having the supporter’s branding added to the Promotional Products and other materials used during the event.
Plant City is preparing for the “Soups at Sunset” session of the Empty Bowls fundraiser program set for November 14th. More details as well as a sponsorship link are included in its web listing.
