Plant City non-profit announces new market experience

A good outdoor market builds community and often offers unique bargains and products. Plant City now has its own downtown market, bringing residents, visitors, and growers together in a dynamic environment.

Historic Plant City Main Street has posted news of the debut of the Plant City Main Street Farmers Market. Organizers intend the market as a new community tradition that will occur on the second Saturday of each month. Attendees can expect a range of produce, herbs, plants, and flowers. Vendors will also be on hand with jams, jellies, sauces, spices, and other handmade goods. Banner printing is useful and in place at many public markets.

The project is a response to many residents’ wishes for a dedicated outdoor market. A consistent monthly schedule will encourage a new rhythm to downtown traffic, creating a regular gathering place for residents. Walkable streets, nearby vendors and shops, and the area’s historic nature will also contribute to the weekend experience for patrons.

Historic Plant City Main Street is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the well-being and revitalization of Plant City’s downtown. Some of its other signature events include Oktoberfest, Last Friday, and the Strawberry Drop. The organization is an accredited Main Street America™ program.

The Plant City Main Street Farmers Market will be held Saturday, March 14, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The market is located at the Robert W. Willaford Railroad Museum, located at 102 North Palmer Street.
