The 7th annual Spring in the Park festival is taking place next month, presented by the Plant City Downtown Merchants and Business Association.
The festival was created to attract more visitors to the downtown area and discover the many different businesses located there.
Each year, the festival features vendors of all types, including arts and crafters, antique stores, and local small businesses. There will be food and drink available for purchase, as well as children’s activities such as bounce houses and face painting. The stores in the area will also be open for business and many may offer deals on that day.
One event taking place during the festival is the Plant City Statue Challenge which is hosted by the Arts Council of Plant City. It is recognition of the ongoing J. Seward Johnson sculpture exhibit in the downtown area, consisting of statues that are life-sized and represent people from all walks of life. Participants are asked to pose as living statues between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and enter the contest on Facebook, with the social media-using public choosing the best one.
Many of the downtown Plant City stores may be investing in flyer printing services to let their customers know about this upcoming event.
Spring in the Park will be held at McCall Park on April 1 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Contact Patricia Rogers at 813-754-1567 to learn more.
