A community garden gives neighbours a venue where they can work together for the greater good, and one located in Plant City will be the beneficiary of an upcoming fundraiser.
This year will be the second time the Plant City Commons Community Garden has hosted a fundraising dinner, and thanks to some local culinary talent, foodies will not want to miss it. It will feature locally sourced produce and other ingredients, and both vegans and omnivores will be able to enjoy the meal.
The function will include a plated dinner of five courses, and it will kick off with a canape selection. Soup, salad and the main course will follow, and a variety of desserts will round out the meal. Wine, beer, tea and other beverages will be on offer, and this will all be accompanied by live music.
Along with the food, the guests at the function will be invited to participate in a garden tour so they can see how their assistance will make a difference right in their home community. A silent auction is also on the agenda, and as the celebration will take place in a sheltered location, it will take place rain or shine. Print shops can supply banner printing and other services for this sort of occasion, which can help to build an even more festive air.
Tickets for this fundraiser are on sale now, and it is scheduled for November 7. The location for the celebration will be at 2001 East Cherry Street.
