Plant City special needs families invited to January workshop

Having a special needs child can often come with its own set of challenges, one of these being working with educators at their child’s school to set up an Individual Education Plan (IEP). A Plant City area workshop will offer an exploration of these documents, what they mean, and how they can shape a student’s educational horizon.

The session, which will provide an overview of IEPs, can give parents knowledge they can use to ensure that their son or daughter's IEP is right for them. These tend to be fluid rather than static, and can follow a child throughout their time in school.

The workshop will offer information about what’s included in an IEP, as well as what parents can do to ensure they are well prepared for meetings to discuss them. They will also explore how they are carried over and adapted from year to year, and how they can be used to transition a young person to their post secondary education or future career.

Parents who come to a session like this often have a lot of questions and desire to learn. Guide Books, informative Brochures and other items for an event like this can be provided by a professional printing services company.

This exploration of IEPs and how they can benefit a special needs child will be offered on January 15. It will be held at 5339 County Road 579 Seffner.
