Plant City has a reputation for being a community that cares, and this will be on full display during an event to make sure everyone has healthy food on their table.
The United Food Bank of Plant City will be beneficiary of the funds raised through this year's Empty Bowls in person fundraiser. The function will also work to increase awareness of food insecurity and what the general public can do to make a difference.
The activity will see members of the public enjoy a hearty meal of soup served to them in a festive bowl created by local artisans, schoolkids and other crafters. They will also be given an apple and a beverage, and they can keep the bowl as a reminder to keep everyone in mind throughout the year, and to do what they can to offer them a hand up. Music will be playing, and a live auction is also in the works.
