Wayback Burgers Plant City has a new offering on its menu that is creating something of a buzz.

The restaurant has recently started serving cricket Oreo mud pie milkshakes. They contain chocolate, Oreo cookies, a little bit of coffee, and, of course, Peruvian cricket powder.

The idea for the shakes came about as an April Fools Day Joke idea this past spring. It was promoted on social media, and quickly became viral. The idea was so popular that the owner decided to start actually offering them for sale to those who wanted to try something a little bit out of the ordinary. A printing company can produce a variety of promotional items around this product that let people know more about it, and how they can try it for themselves.

One patron who was asked by News Channel Eight if they would try the drink responded by saying the idea of drinking crickets makes them rather squeamish. Although the insects could simply be seen as a source of protein, the idea of eating bugs is not something they wish to try.

The milkshake is being offered at the restaurant along with the 20-gram Slim Jim shake on a promotional basis until the end of September. This will give any members of the public brave enough to give it a try an ample chance to do so.
