Help make Plant City gardens more pet friendly

A home’s garden can be a place for all its occupants to relax and have fun. A Plant City workshop can help to make sure that all family members, including those with fur and four legs, can safely enjoy this shared space.

The Lakeland Electric Building will be the location for a lunch and learn that will be focused on pet friendly landscaping. Attendance is free of charge, and lunch will be served.

The workshop will offer an introduction to principles of landscape design, including how to create a space that is safe for dogs, cats or other pets. The learners will also discover how they can choose plants that are both attractive and non toxic. There will be lots of time to ask questions, and the attendees can also mingle and share their own tips for creating a yard where both people and pets can have fun.

The UF/ IFAs and the City of Lakeland Water Utilities have partnered to offer this lunch and learn to the community. A printing services provider can supply additional handouts and other learning materials such as plant lists, planting tips and other information that can be useful to the attendees of an event like this.

The Lakeland Electric Building is located at 501 E lemon Street in Lakeland, and it will be offering this workshop on September 27th. All are welcome.
