Chance to have a ball on Independence Day

The Lakeland Flying Tigers are holding a 4th of July Independence Celebration at Joker Marchant Stadium.

Of course, the main part of the evening will be a game between the Tigers and the Tampa Yankees. The home team will be wearing special jerseys in the colors of the U.S. flag.

The event is set to have a holiday picnic theme. After the baseball game, there will be contests and a musical performance from the Sofa Kings.

Later in the evening, visitors will be treated to a pair of concurrent fireworks displays, choreographed to music. The display is partly sponsored by the City of Lakeland.

This is a unique way to celebrate Independence Day and it is likely that baseball fans from all over the area, including Plant City, will want to purchase tickets for this in advance. The Independence Celebration will take place at Joker Marchant Stadium on July 4, beginning at 4:00 pm. The game will begin at 5:00 pm.
