Annual event brings out the best BBQ providers

The 13th annual ‘Pig Jam’ is being held for a weekend this month, presented by the Plant City Chamber of Commerce.

This annual event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society and features competition for both professional and amateur barbecue providers. In the professional category, there are cash prizes for the top 10, and first place will receive the Grand Champion award. There are four categories of competition: ribs, pork, beef brisket, and chicken. The public will, of course, have the opportunity to sample a wide variety of barbecued food.

For the public, there will be entertainment from five bands, vendors selling a variety of arts and crafts, and children's activities. Kids can take part in a rock climbing wall and moon walks, while they can also enjoy snow cones and cookies.

This is a popular annual event in Plant City, and no doubt local flyer printing companies will be helping to advertise it in the community. These Flyers can be mailed out to those in the city, handed out on the street, or posted at public buildings.

The Pig Jam will be held at Randy Larson Softball Four-Plex Stadium from November 20 to 21. It is free to attend and parking is $5 per vehicle. Contact the Plant City Chamber of Commerce for more information about the weekend activities.
