Central Florida Development has broken ground on a new warehouse development project while its most recent build is only 75% leased.
The developer does not have any available space for lease in the area, other than the remaining 25,000 square feet in its warehouse located at County Line Road at U.S. Highway 92. The new warehouse will be 100,000 square feet and does not currently have any signed tenants.
According to a spokesperson for the developer, demand is high, so the company is optimistic about the new project. Plant City has focused on economic development in recent years, which has helped stimulate its economy, and put the developer at ease when it decided to pursue the new warehouse.
Potential tenants for the new building could range from office uses to manufacturers and distributors. Particularly for companies conducting business in both Tampa and Orlando, Plant City is a strategic place to set up operations.
The new tenants, no matter the industry or type of work, will bring more jobs to the city, and will have a positive ripple effect on the economy. This includes small benefits, such as local vendors like printing companies benefiting from business card printing and the production of other marketing materials, and also larger effects, such as increased housing purchases along with the furniture to fill the homes.
The company anticipates completing construction by January 2016.
