Palm Coast to host multi-hour races

Those interested in participating in a demanding but scenic race can join an event at the River to Sea Preserve in Palm Coast.

The River to Sea 6/12 Hour Race is an experience where people can challenge their endurance by doing laps along a scenic loop trail at the River to Sea Preserve. The course is completely flat and will be heavily shaded by the palm and oak trees next to the hiking path. There will be a stocked aid station at the event where runners can get water, electrolyte fluids, and food.

The event is organized by Dawn Lisenby, an experienced race organizer who has more than 15 years of experience conducting races. She has also been a running coach for 15 years. Lisenby started trail running in 2002 and competed in her first event in 2008. She is the founder of Jack’s Trail Race, a racing event and scholarship fundraiser founded in memory of Lisenby’s brother.

The multi-hour races will be held on Saturday, August 1 and will begin at 7:00 am. People can get their packets for the event at the River to Sea Preserve on the morning of the event or on July 31. The cost to be a runner for the 6-hour race is $120 per person, and it will cost $140 to join the 12-hour race. The prices will increase as the races get closer. Organizers for similar running events can depend on banner printing to advertise their races.
