The Orlando Science Center has received a $1m grant from AdventHealth for Children to advance hands-on education in areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across central Florida.
The Unlock Science campaign of the Science Center is supported by this gift. It also makes AdventHealth for Children the presenting sponsor of the STEM Discovery Center. This is the center’s home base for outreach programs, science competitions, and summer camps.
The grant is part of a partnership over the next 10 years. Its goal is to increase children’s curiosity and build pathways for careers in STEM. Children at West Lakes Early Learning Center, programs for patients at AdventHealth for Children, and families in underserved neighborhoods will also be supported by this funding.
The senior executive officer of AdventHealth for Children, Krisit Baker, expressed a hope that expanding the partnership with Orlando Science Center will ignite a curiosity and passion for learning within local young people, setting future engineers, scientists, and mathematicians on a great path for their educational future.
News of funding and its benefits for the community is often disseminated with the help of flyer printing companies.
Due to the more than $30m that has been raised by the Unlock Science campaign, there have been additions to the Science Center including the STEM Discovery Center and Kids Town.
