Orlando hosts community sports day

The Southchase 6 Park presents the first staging of the annual SC6 Summer Games next month.

Summer is right around the corner and Orlando will be celebrating with a neighborhood tournament. The SC6 Summer Games features eight events and offers fun for the entire family. Teams can take part in one or all of the following events and must include one resident of the community:

1. Volleyball (teams of five)
2. Basketball (teams of three)
3. Soccer (teams of five)
4. Doubles tennis
5. Bocce
6. Tug of war
7. Golf
8. Corn hole

Scrimmage jerseys will be provided for soccer and basketball.

Those interested in attending but not taking part in the event are encouraged to take lawn chairs or blankets. Nonparticipants can also volunteer to be hosts, referees, organizers, and scorekeepers. Each participant will be given food and water coupons and a water bottle. There will be bounce houses, hula hoops, games, a water slide, and jump ropes for children to enjoy. Food vendors will arrive at 11:30 am and the awards ceremony will take place at 3:30 pm.
