Local artists are being sought by the city of Orlando to display their artwork in the Terrance Gallery at Orlando City Hall during Hispanic Heritage Month.
The city hosts this art exhibit every year as art is a significant part of Hispanic Heritage. This exhibit is also a way to illustrate the richness of the culture of Latin America.
The theme of this year’s exhibit is to feature art pieces inspired by dominos that showcase the sport. This has also played a key role in the history of the culture and is often associated with shared values and traditions such as friendship, community, and culture.
There are several criteria that will be used to judge the submissions. Artists will be selected based on the appropriateness of their proposal for the exhibit and need to be able to clearly communicate the concepts of their work through written materials as well as visually. The artist also needs to have a history in their profession of finishing projects on time and being able to work cooperatively.
Brochure printing is one way to provide more details about such requirements and the submission process.
Submissions need to be made to Patrick Greene, the City of Orlando Public Art Coordinator, by August 25. The exhibit itself will run from Friday September 8 to Monday November 13.
