A new establishment, the Marketplace at Avalon Park, is set to open, aiming to offer a high-end take on the classic food court with a diverse array of restaurants.
The Marketplace is set to feature 11 restaurants, including barbecue joint BBQ50, the Bourbon Street-inspired NOLA Avalon Park, the simply-titled Cheese to Share, and a taproom for Bowigens Beer Co that will offer a unique Avalon amber ale. The food hall also aims to be an event space for food-lovers with culinary demonstrations and classes planned alongside evening entertainment like Supper Club and Speak Easy nights, as well as plans for live music. Additionally, the Marketplace is home to the Avalon Commissary Kitchen, a shared space that can be used by visiting chefs looking to experiment.
The Avalon Park hall was originally set to open in the spring but is now targeting a fall opening. In addition to restaurants, the hall will be home to the Avalon General store, which offers local and artisanal products ranging from wine to goat milk soap. The Marketplace is looking to hire a full staff before opening, with business card printing a common occurrence around the opening of large malls and marketplaces like this.
The Marketplace at Avalon Park is located at 3801 East Avalon Park Boulevard and plans to open in September.
