Flagship bear-making store to come to Orlando

Build-A-Bear Workshop is planning to open a flagship store in ICON Park here in Orlando.

Situated on International Drive, the new store will replace the Build-A-Bear Workshop that opened in 2021 in ICON Park.

This store will be three stories tall and offer an experience that is more than customization and building toys. The venue is expected to cost $11 million to build and will also feature an all-in-one design studio, a clothing personalization station, and a dessert shop. There will also be a terrace on the rooftop that will be partially enclosed.

The new store will span just under 34,000 square feet. Other cities had been considered by the company for this new store, including Las Vegas and Chicago, but it was decided to build the store in Orlando.

The Orlando location will offer a more customized experience than its locations in malls, requiring visitors to schedule appointments with dedicated consultants. During each session, guests can personalize various features of their plush companion, from eye color and coat finish to paw design elements. Unique businesses like this can use banner printing to generate awareness of new retail locations, and draw attention to their unique offerings and shopping experiences.

Plans for this location in Orlando were announced by Build-A-Bear in March 2025. Construction began in July 2025. The building is expected to be completed next month but a grand opening date has not been announced.
