Contemporary art exhibit to come to Orlando

The Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) will be holding its Florida Prize in Contemporary Art for the 10th consecutive year at the end of next month.

Such exhibits often rely on local Print shops to contribute Posters and other Promotional Products for promotion.

The OMA organizes this exhibit which brings new recognition to the artists that are among the most progressive in the state. The curatorial team at the museum surveys Florida’s artists and then sends Invitations to 10 of them to participate in the exhibit. An award of $20,000 will be given to one artist; this award is made possible by Michael and Gail Winn, who are local philanthropists. There will be an opening party at which the artist receiving the award for this year will be announced. Those visiting the exhibit will also be able to cast a vote for their favourite artist in the People’s Choice award. The winning artist will receive an award of $2,500.

Those participating in the exhibit range from emerging artists to those who are in the middle of their career, many of whom have distinguished records of awards and exhibitions from national and international levels.

There will be a preview party to open the exhibit from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, May 31, catered by the most popular caterers in central Florida. It will feature dishes inspired by one of the 10 artists.
