Last week in Orlando, Florida, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers held the world’s largest auction of heavy equipment, breaking multiple records for the company. Proceeds from the gross auction were $203 million, lots sold were more than 10,000, registered bidders numbered 8,670, sellers numbered 830, and the number of online bidders was 4,070. The company has used printing services to Print Flyers and Posters to distribute to the public announcing this great accomplishment.
Ritchie Bros. CEO, Peter Blake, called the auction historic and thanked everyone who participated in the auction for making it so successful. The auction, Blake added, made Orlando a global marketplace, with bidders participating from both within Florida and around the world. The auction in Orlando is the company’s third industrial auction of the year and serves to set the stage so that the company can carry out its mission.
Involved in the auction were bidders from all 50 states in the US, 88 countries and all of Canadian, including the provinces and two territories, participating online and in-person in Orlando. Buyers located outside of Florida accounted for 79% of total sales, with 36% sold to buyers outside of the United States.
According to Regional Sales Manager, Steve Kriebel, bidders came to Orlando from every continent in the world. The auction was as successful as it was, Kriebel added, not only because the buying customers’ purchased products but because they also participated in taking advantage of buying the company’s value-added services, such as transportation, refurbishing and painting, warranty and insurance services, and financing. Both the buying and selling customers were very pleased with the auction, Kriebel said.
