The University of Central Florida (UCF), with its main campus in Orlando, will be hosting its first arts festival later this month at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
The festival, titled ‘UCF Celebrates the Arts’, partners with several departments, including the College of Sciences, the School of Visual Arts and Design, and the Office of the President, and the Student Government Association so that talent from these various groups will be featured. The Orlando Shakespeare Theatre and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra also collaborate with UCF and will be offering several performances.
In addition to the student and professional performances, there will be floor-to-ceiling Banners in the Performing Arts Center of student work from the School of Visual Arts and Design. The students may have worked closely with banner printing companies to ensure that these banners showcased their many talents.
Students from visiting instructor Debi Starr Leitch's 3D design fundamentals courses, will also choose from a variety of images, such as Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Can, and then create large 3D backdrops and props and find costumes to represent those images.
The Festival will run from April 10 to April 15. Free public transportation from the main campus in Orlando to the Center for the Performing Arts will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis in an effort to allow as much of the Greater Orlando community to enjoy the festival.Get a Free Quote for Banners
