Technology employment on the rise in Orlando
Engineers, analysts, and professionals in information technology who are looking to find jobs in the Orlando area may find that this is not such a daunting task.
Three technology firms in Central Florida are currently looking to fill nearly 150 high-wage positions. Those who eventually fill these positions will look to business card printing companies for the printing of digital cards with their name, position, and the company for which they are working.
Symantec, a firm that deals with cybersecurity, is looking to hire 76 people in Seminole County at its Heathrow location. Some of these positions are for software engineers, technical support engineers, managers, and coordinators, many of which are high salaried as determined by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.
According to Dayne Williams, CEO of PlanSource, in addition to the 31 people his company has already hired this year, there are plans to hire 35 to 40 more people in the Orlando office. The average annual salary for these positions, most of which are in information technology, is $75,000 but many of these high-paying jobs are also in accounting.
HostDime, a global cloud data center company based in Orlando, is currently building a 14,700-square-foot facility in Orlando. The company now has 160; it had previously added 50 jobs to its current location and has plans to add between 75 and 100 jobs over the next two to three years.
