Florida Bike Month will be celebrated in Orlando with the 24th annual Bike to Work Day.
This event is free and will begin in Luminary Green Park. The ride will be started by Mayor Buddy Dyer, and organizers are saying it will be an energizing and fun ride of 3.5 miles through downtown Orlando.
The morning will offer opportunities to connect with community partners and local vendors. The focus of the ride will be on eco-friendly transportation options and how to create safer streets.
There will be free safety gear and merchandise available for all participants. Attendees will also learn pointers for and get practice with securing their bikes to a LYNX bus. Free helmets and helmet fittings will also be available on a first come, first served basis. For those who want to participate but do not own a bicycle, there will be a limited number of electric bicycles available.
People can also participate in the event as part of a team with their affiliate organization or employer. Teams will complete other activities during Florida Bike Month to earn points and compete with other teams to win the Bike to Work Day Trophy of Champions.
Poster printing can be used to promote such special events throughout a city and surrounding communities.
This event will be on Friday, March 28, and takes place from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m.
