What's Happening in Orlando, FL…

The city of Orlando has launched its celebration of the 150th anniversary of the city. This will be a celebration that will throughout the year, filled with exhibits, community events, historical and public art installations.

Such special celebrations are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.

Organizations, businesses, and residents are invited by the city to join in the celebrations. There will be many opportunities to participate that will include sharing personal Orlando stories on social media, offering special anniversary promotions, hosting events, and contributing historical photographs and anecdotes to the digital history board of the city.

Among the events already planned, there will be the exhibit titled “Orlando Collected” that will be at the Orange County Regional History Center. Showcased at the exhibit will be 150 unique items donated by local organizations and individuals and will offer a view into the rich history of the city. This exhibition will open in April.

There will be the public “Changing Face of Orlando: A Sesquicentennial Celebration” art exhibit that will feature a comparison of modern-day photographs with their historical counterparts and will illustrate the transformation of the city over the past 150 years. This will open later this summer.

The culmination of these celebrations will include a service event throughout the city with free admission to popular attractions, such as the Mennello Museum and Leu Gardens. This will be on Thursday July 31.
