Orlando to host walk, exhibit, and barbeque

A series of events will be coming to the city of Orlando next weekend.

The first is a Historic District Walking Tour of Lake Eola. This will cover the historic homes in the largest Residential Historic District in the city, Lake Eola Heights. The tour will guide attendees of the development of the city from a frontier town to the thriving metropolis it is today. This tour will be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. meeting on E Livingston Street.

A Slide and Glide Community Barbeque is a new event that invites members of the community to bring vehicles without motors to the center and ride together safely. There will also be yard games, music, and complimentary food. This event will begin at 10:00 a.m.

The Terrace Art Gallery at City Hall will be hosting Coffee with the Curators: Mary Ann Carroll, Queen of the Highway, a new exhibit at City Hall. This exhibit honors the significant contributions of Mary Ann Carroll to the history of art and highlights the dedication of the city to recognizing women trailblazers in the arts. There will be insights from the curators of the exhibit and special guest, Mary Ann Carroll’s daughter, Dr. Renee Mills. This will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

All these events will be on Saturday May 17. Cities such as Orlando can benefit from poster printing to highlight such special events throughout a city to residents and visitors.
