The Wahlberg brothers from Boston have recently opened a Wahlburgers restaurant in Orlando, in the Sun Trust building.
They held a VIP opening celebration that was private and by invitation only, and featured Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg and actor Mark Wahlberg. The public was invited to attend a concert that same night, which the Wahlberg brothers hosted.
The restaurant is 6,000 square feet in size and is decorated with photos and mementos celebrating the history of the Wahlberg family. The menu includes their signature burgers, fish and chicken sandwiches, salads made in-house, and a kids’ menu with a ‘Smahlburger’. Frappes and desserts are also on the menu. There is a full bar, featuring a cocktail with a Florida theme called the Orlando Dreamsicle.
The Wahlbergs opened their first restaurant in Hingham, Massachusetts in 2011 and now have two more in the state (Boston and Lynnfield). There is also one in Coney Island, New York and another in Toronto, Canada, with locations planned for Philadelphia and Las Vegas to open this year.
They also have a reality television series on A&E, and Chef Paul has long been involved in culinary events in order to raise money for charity.
