Orlando womens center opening creates fanfare
The Women’s Business Center in Orlando, a new economic resource that aims to help female-owned companies in Central Florida, will be holding a grand opening ceremony later this month.
The event is open to the public and will be attended by the mayors of Orlando and Orange County, as well as Anthony Catanese, who is president and CEO of the Florida Institute of Technology, which will operate the Center.
According to Shea Glenny, director of the Center, it will serve several counties and help to enable and leverage technology for woman-owned companies to become innovators in their industry and grow.
She added that the Center will also help with leadership programs, become the authority for women with regard to entrepreneurship and technology, and develop into an investment fund for woman-owned startups.
Catanese commented that the Center will raise the visibility of women entrepreneurs and their successes, and show how they are creating jobs and generating wealth in the community. It is hoped that this Center will be an environment that can enhance their progress and inspire leaders for the future.
The grand opening will be held on Thursday, March 12 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Exchange Building. Publicizing this special event can be done with the assistance of local print companies, which can create flyers that provide details about the Center and its programs.
