The weeklong National Veterans Wheelchair Games includes some of the best disabled athletes in the world competing in 19 sporting events.
More than 500 athletes compete in this championship each year. The Orlando VA Medical Center and the Central Florida Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America host the 2018 matchup. The competition is the result of years of expansion of the recovery and rehabilitation programs offered to veterans, and the number of athletes taking part in the event has grown consistently since 1981.
The Orlando games will include matchups in events like swimming, table tennis, weightlifting, archery, basketball, and bowling. A track and field event for motorized wheelchairs is also a part of the games. The organizers pair athletes with competitors who are a good match for them in age, experience, and athletic ability.

The competition will run from July 29 to August 4 and will take place at the Orange County Convention Center. The center is located at 9800 International Drive in Orlando.
