The 17th Annual Unity Heritage Festival, presented by the City of Winter Park, encourages everyone to celebrate their heritage in a few days’ time.
The event this year hopes to support the Educational Fulfillment Fund, which caters to local disadvantaged young people. The event includes a variety of family-friendly activities, with many food and gift vendors taking part. Career booths and job training information are available during the event, as is help with literacy and financial education. Live performance by gospel artists on Sunday, and LUVU Band and CeCe Teneal and Soul Kamotion on Monday. A program to honor Martin Luther King Jr. will take place on the Monday as well.
The event is possible due to the help of many sponsors and the efforts of the City of Winter Park Community Redevelopment Agency and Parks & Recreation Department, among many others. The Unity Heritage Festival takes place on Sunday, January 20 and Monday, January 21. The festival will run from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday and from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday. The event will take place at Shady Park at 721 West New England Avenue in Winter Park. Everyone is welcome and there is no fee to attend.
