After eight years in business, The Rusty Spoon restaurant in downtown Orlando will soon be in new hands. Former owners Kathleen and William Blake will remain on board to assist in the transition, but they have sold their interest to Michelle Lagerweij.
Lagerweij took over as the new owner on Friday, July 19 and has already assumed the daily operations of the restaurant. Orlando’s downtown atmosphere continues to change and develop and businesses continue to thrive in the area. Among many major changes, the arrival of the new Amway Center and Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts have brought new life to the city and continue to bring in thousands of visitors to the area whenever they hold events.
When a business changes names or ownership, it will usually consult with Print shops to obtain various printing services such as assistance with Logo Design, graphic design, and business card printing. Restaurants will also need to obtain assistance with the printing of new Menus and perhaps even Promotional Products.
Former owner Kathleen Blake was an aspiring chef who worked closely with local farmers and other local sources. The restaurant prided itself on the local resources it drew from along with the fine dining experience it provided.
Although the ownership has changed, one thing will remain the same – current chef Reanna McNamara will stay with the new restaurant and continue to run the kitchen. The restaurant is located at 55 W. Church Street.
