Major shopping center changes hands in Orlando area

Marketplace at Seminole Towne Center has been purchased by CTO Realty Growth, Inc.

This is a premier retail destination in the Sanford area of Orlando, about 18 miles north of the city’s central business district. The population is over 60,000 residents within a three-mile radius of the center.

News of such acquisitions and their implications for an area are often made known with flyer printing.

This retail center is an enclosed mall of 1.1 million square feet and is on 41 acres along SR 417 and Interstate 4. This location is close to downtown Orlando, giving it strong ties to the community. It has a diverse mix of tenants with an occupancy rate of 98 percent.

Marketplace at Seminole Towne Center is near a Target store, which serves as a shadow anchor. Anchors at the shopping center include several off-price clothing retailers including Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, and Burlington, in addition to Five Below, Petco, and Ultra Beauty.

Chipotle, Panera Bread, and Firehouse Subs are among the dining options.

The president and CEO of CTO Realty Growth, Inc., John P. Albright, said that this purchase aligns with the strategy of the company to enhance its presence in high-growth markets. He added that this shopping center, with its many high-profile anchor stores, enables his company to gain exposure in the Orlando market, which is now the fourth largest market for the company.
