February in Orlando is heating up
What better way to warm up a cold winter day than with a chili cookoff? Revelers in Orlando will be greeted with such an opportunity in the near future.
The additional heat may not be entirely necessary in Orlando, but the fans that come to this annual event are not complaining. The event is more than just a competition, so Festival Park guests will have plenty to keep them busy.
Eventgoers will spend the day listening to a variety of live bands and enjoying free samples of chili and the many other refreshments available. A special area will be set aside for children that includes a bounce house and a kids’ DJ playing music just for them. Anyone hungry for more can participate in the World Chili Eating Challenge, or just enjoy the competition as a spectator.
All proceeds from the one-day event will benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand. This nonprofit organization raises awareness of the causes of childhood cancer and encourages children and adults to get involved with cancer research, empowerment programs, and much more. It provides medical grants and share the stories of everyday heroes fighting childhood cancer.
