Chicken eatery reopens in Central Florida

Huey Magoos Chicken Tenders recently reopened its restaurant near the University of Central Florida in Oviedo, just a short distance from Orlando.

It was forced to close 16 months ago due to a fire. The exact cause of the fire was never discovered but investigators had suspicions that it was the result of a bale of hale getting too hot.

While the restaurant was undergoing renovation, students have been going to a location of the restaurant at the University. According to cofounder Matt Armstrong, during construction, people were stopping by all the time inquiring as to when it would open again.

The interior was completely redone and there is a new front entrance. He added that just about everything needed to be redone, except for the wall, trusses, and roof.

Huey Magoos was founded in 2004 by Armstrong and Thad Hudgens. The focus of the restaurant is to serve fresh, cooked-to-order chicken tenders, either grilled or fried, on their own, in a salad or wrap, or as part of a meal, which will typically come with French fries and a choice of dipping sauce.

Armstrong and Hudgeons may now be turning to a local print company to print mailers and other materials that can be sent to the community to make them aware of that the restaurant is back in business.
