Brick by brick builds new Legoland hotel
Legoland Florida in Orlando, the first Legoland Hotel on the East Coast, is scheduled to open this month.
The hotel, with 152 rooms, is specifically designed for kids. There is a miniature figure wall with 5,000 Lego figures in the lobby for children check-in purposes. Also in the lobby is a play area with a castle, accompanied by Lego bricks filling a moat and surrounding a pirate ship. In addition, more than two million Lego bricks had been used in the approximately 2,000 models scattered throughout the hotel.
Master Model Builder Workshops with classes offered exclusively to hotel guests will provide a classroom where times can be booked with the master model builders and guests can learn how to design and build models.
According to the general manager of the hotel, Adrian Jones, these workshops should be popular for tourists, but those coming to the hotel can also relax as there are views of Cypress Gardens and Lake Eloise at Winter Haven. The hotel is also expected to increase the appeal of Legoland to tourists who want to stay for more than one day at the park.
There will be about 150 new jobs created as another outcome of the hotel. This can also help business card printing companies in the area, as these employees will most likely need business cards for their jobs.
The grand opening celebration will be held on May 15.
