Over 350,000 visitors are expected at the 60th Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.
More than 1,100 artists from around the globe apply to take part in the March art celebration. The judges have selected the top 225 applicants to compete in the popular event this year. Numerous art Forms appear at the festival each year including digital art, watercolor, and jewelry.
The event also includes works by the artists at the Leon Theodore Schools. Thousands of Orlando area schoolchildren will have their handiwork on display in their own exhibit. A workshop for children will take place during the festival so children can create their own artwork to take home.
A total of 63 awards are available for the top artists at the event. Prizes totaling $74,500 will be presented with the awards. The Patrons Program also donates a total of $80,000 in Art Bucks for the purchase of artwork.
The festival organizers have commissioned a design for the 2019 festival poster and are busy with poster printing for souvenirs. Copies of the current and past years’ Posters are available in the festival store on the website.
The Winter Park Sidewalk Festival takes place on March 15, 16, and 17 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. The Children’s Workshop is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with easel painting from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The Festival takes place at Central Park in downtown Winter Park. There is no admission fee to attend.
