Accountancy giant to build new facility in central Florida
Deloitte LLP recently announced that it will be opening a new tech center in Lake Mary, just outside Orlando, as part of its Consulting Arm, which will provide 1,000 new jobs in the area.
This is in addition to the hundreds of positions it has added recently and reflects the growing momentum in the hiring of high tech professionals in the region.
The company will be spending $24.6 million to build the 130,000 square foot facility. It will be the home for system analyst, software development, and information technology positions. These will be added over a period of four years.
The company, which is the world’s largest accountancy firm, already employs 877 people in five locations in Florida and recruits many of its employees from colleges and universities in the state.
Other participants in the project are the Orlando Economic Development Commission, CareerSource Central Florida, the University of Central Florida, and Florida High Tech Corridor Council.
According to Bert Naquin from Deloitte Consulting, who will be the director of the center, the Orlando area was chosen as there is a large skilled labor force in technology, business, and human resources, and it is close to local schools as well.
Printing companies can benefit from expansions such as this one, as new employees usually require business card printing.
