TQL looks to establish Miami presence

One of the country’s largest freight-brokerage firms, Total Quality Logistics (TQL), has announced it will be expanding its operation in Miami, creating 75 new positions in the next three years.

The expansion is set for March and will involve a capital investment in Miami-Dade County of $600,000. It will be TQL’s sixth location in Florida; the other cities in the state where TQL operates are Fort Lauderdale, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Jacksonville.

In addition to the Miami expansion, the company recently announced that it will be creating an additional 100 jobs for its Daytona Beach expansion. Moreover, with its new carrier services division, 200 jobs will be added in Tampa. Presently, 450 Floridians are employed by TQL across the Sunshine State, where it began operations in 2010.

The deadline for having Letterheads and other personalized Stationery items ready for the Miami office will be March 21, in Museum Tower. A banner printing service will likely be employed to announce the big day in advance.

Miami-Dade County, Enterprise Florida, the Beacon Council, and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity came together to make the TQL expansion a reality.

Florida is the leading state for transportation infrastructure in the U.S., and 20% of the jobs in Miami-Dade County are in the field of trade and logistics. Those numbers are expected to trend higher with next year’s expansion of the Panama Canal.
