Next month, Miami will host the Young Medalist Performance, part of the 31st International Ballet Festival of Miami, to highlight emerging young talent in ballet and dance.
The International Ballet Festival of Miami grew out of the Miami Hispanic Ballet Company, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Hispanic professional dance artists in the Miami-Dade area. The organization soon became a promoter and presenter of important gala performances, which led to the creation of the International Ballet Festival. Now the most successful ballet festival in the US, it hosts a diverse array of local, national, and international talent.
The festival takes place from late July to early August. The Young Medalist Performance will be held at the beginning of August and will feature award-winning artists from national ballet competitions, as well as participants selected from the festival’s summer intensive program. The event will highlight the next generation of talent, with both classical and contemporary styles represented.
